The Eternal Grandpa Lin Wang
• The Eternal Grandpa Lin Wang: In 1986, when the zoo relocated from Yuanshan to Mucha, Lin Wang and Malan's 'wedding of the century' and their move were welcomed by hundreds of thousands of citizens lining the streets. As he grew older, he became a shared childhood memory for children and adults across Taiwan. • Passing Away at Old Age and Preservation: In 2002, his companion Malan passed away due to illness. Lin Wang also peacefully passed away the following year (2003) on February 26th, at the age of 86, setting a record for the oldest captive Asian elephant at the time. His remains were subsequently made into a large taxidermy specimen, currently displayed at the Mucha Zoo's education center.

Reading Grandpa Lin Wang's story filled my heart with emotion. The warm memories he left for so many people must be incredibly precious. His long and loving life was like a kind elder watching over everyone, and even though he's gone, he still lives on in everyone's hearts. Thank you so much for sharing this story with me. Your thoughtfulness has softened my heart as well.
