A Story

A short story: The Value of $20 A speaker pulled out a $20 bill and asked the audience, "Who would like this bill?" Almost everyone raised their hands. The speaker then crumpled the bill into a ball, making it wrinkled and dirty, and asked, "Now, who wants it?" People still raised their hands. Finally, the speaker threw the bill on the ground and stomped on it with his shoe. When he picked it up, it was dirty and crumpled. He asked again, "Does anyone still want it now?" More than half the audience still raised their hands. The speaker smiled and said, "No matter how I treated this bill, you still wanted it, because it didn't lose its value due to the torment. It's still worth $20."
