Do you find it annoying how quickly game equipment gets outdated?

In some RPGs, the pace of gear replacement is incredibly fast. You might get a weapon you really like, only for it to be replaced by the next piece of equipment not long after. Gear that you spent a lot of time enhancing might end up just gathering dust in your storage. I find equipment progression fun, but if it gets outdated too quickly, it can kill the motivation to invest in it. Do you prefer a playstyle where gear is constantly updated and you're always chasing stronger options, or one where you can nurture a favorite set of equipment for a long time?
