Influenza

Wow, it seems to be really spreading. My kid's kindergarten had to close, not just a single class, but the whole kindergarten. It seems like it spread not only to the children but also to the teachers, so they suddenly closed for a week and it's been chaos. ... The time my kids are at kindergarten is my only solo time, my joy. *Sigh*. So, I had to take a break from chatting too. Well then, what shall we talk about today? Let's switch gears a bit today and talk about Naoko Anbo's "The Ballet Shoes Given by a Rabbit". Ah, this is a picture book. I loved it so much when I was in elementary school and often put it in the class library, where students would put their recommended books on the class bookshelf for others to read. By the way, to roughly explain the story, it's just as the title says, a rabbit gave ballet shoes. If you're curious, give it a read, it's a picture book. I really love Naoko Anbo's fantasy. It's probably the origin of my fantasy. Long ago, when it appeared on a Japanese test, I bought it at a bookstore after the test because I wanted to read it all. It was quite the encounter (lol). Even now, besides the one mentioned above, I also love "The Distant Wild Rose Village" and "The Silver Peacock"~

October...?

It's October, right? Isn't it hot today??? Seriously, it's October, right?? Why does it get hotter after I change my wardrobe? It's been pretty cool recently, hasn't it?? Well, anyway, it's October. Calendar-wise, it's October. Only two months left this year. Gotta start wrapping up the things I haven't finished this year. Not that I really have anything unfinished this year, though (lol). I've got my pile of unread books, and if a game's story is paused midway, that's not unfinished business, it's just resting. Until the day comes... Anyway, let's get to today's talk. So, 'Psyche's Tears,' 'Hydra's Confession,' 'Seija's Festival,' 'Noctiluca Laughs.' They're called the Yura series. I didn't even know that when I read them (lol). It's more fun to read them as a series. I guess it's a mystery? Or a story about people? I don't know, I just like them. Out of them, 'Psyche's Tears' is my favorite. I was surprised the series continued because I thought that one book was the end (lol). Ah, that was back then. Also, personally, I like the cover art because it's pretty (Media Works Bunko edition). From the same author, 'Okonogi-kun is a Mermaid,' this one is unfinished. I kinda want to read the continuation of this one too.

Time flies.

Tomorrow's already October, huh. Wow, only two months left in the year, time really flies. ...Though maybe I'm the only one thinking that (lol). When you're diligently working on various things every day, if you're not good with your hands, things tend to slip through the cracks, and you can't do everything perfectly. Yeah, what am I talking about? Simply put, I'm bad at sticking with things (lol). Ever since I was little, I've had trouble continuing things I don't like. Well, even with things I do like, I can't just do them all the time. When I'm tired, I can't concentrate, and I can't even keep up with my daily routine. I know I don't have much stamina, so I want to work on it daily, but I can't stick with it (lol). It's autumn, you know. I want to start new things, but it's the kind of autumn where I get bored easily (lol). Ah, shoot. I've been rambling and haven't talked about anything specific. Um, I've been curious about ReFa's hair dryer lately (sudden topic change). It's the Beautèc Dryer SE. It's super compact and light. I'm debating whether to buy it, but I'll probably end up buying it eventually (lol). After all, Christmas is coming up. As a reward for myself... But hey, you should just buy what you want when you want it.

Anime Pokemon.

Alright, alright. Today, I'm gonna talk about stuff again. Recently, my kid got into Pokemon (lol). So I've been quietly watching the anime with them. I mean, I used to chase the dream of catching all 151 Pokemon back in the day, but now there are 1025? That's a whole different league. My kid seems to be trying to memorize all of them. But even with 1025 Pokemon, there are quite a few that have the same name but different appearances depending on the region... If you can master all of them, including their moves and types, I personally think you could call yourself a Pokemon Professor, but what do you think? (lol). ...Oops, I got sidetracked. Back to the anime. Since Ash's story is over, I'm watching the one with Liko and Roy. Wow... in that world, they aren't kids who just catch any Pokemon, they're different from Ash. They aren't even aiming to be Pokemon Masters (lol). Pikachu does appear, but it's a cool-looking Pikachu, which was a bit surprising too. Personally, I feel like the content might be a bit difficult for young children, but they're watching intently, so maybe they're enjoying it? Well, they might just be watching Pokemon (lol). I've run out of characters. See ya later!

Favorite Character.

Well, I ended up being late today. I had decided what I wanted to talk about since this morning, you know. Things don't always go as planned. Anyway, today I'm going to talk about my favorite character. Right now, my favorite is Usagi-sensei from Nitori Sasami's "White Tiger and Black Tiger". I mean, I like White Tiger-kun, Black Tiger-kun, the Dog Policeman, Uni-moni-mo, and the Cat Brothers too (lol). Oh, for those who don't know, let me add a little context. It's a story about White Tiger-kun getting along with Black Tiger (shrimp). However, Black Tiger-kun is a bit clumsy and tends to end up as food, and Usagi-sensei is the one who fixes that. She's a pink rabbit. A girl (?). She's a rival (?) to the Dog Policeman. I think you can read it for free online, so check it out if you're interested. By the way, I also like Nitori Sasami's "Mysterious Cat Kyu-chan". Kyu-chan has its own charm. This one is a comic. As the title suggests, Kyu-chan is a cat. A very cute one. Both are generally cute, relaxed, and heartwarming stories. Probably. Even when Black Tiger-kun becomes food, it's still heartwarming (lol).

Saw it for the first time in a while.

Today, I saw an ad for a game, and for the first time in a while, I saw a commercial for 'Shirogane no Jou' (White Silver Castle). It's a game app that you can't play yet, though (lol). Also, it's probably not registered on Playo. It seems to be a detective adventure, so I'm a little excited to see what kind of game it is. I probably found out about it about a year ago (lol). My husband told me about it because he knows I like detective stories. It seems like it will be available soon, so I'm looking forward to it along with Mabinogi. Though I might not be able to play them all at once due to my smartphone's storage capacity (lol). By the way, I haven't researched 'Shirogane no Jou' much, so I don't really know what kind of game it is (lol). I don't think it's like Professor Layton, at least. I hope it's something like Detective Pikachu. Also, since there's gacha, maybe there's combat too? Hmm, I don't know (lol). Anyway, I'll try it when it's released, but if it's different from what I imagined, I might end up not playing it much (lol). I'll probably try to register with the name 'Megane' if possible (it's the name I use for most games), so if anyone's interested and decides to play, I'd be happy to be friends!

Capacity

It's been a while since I last posted. I guess holidays and stuff just don't work for me. Having the kids around all the time is stressful (lol). My capacity isn't that high, you know. When I get stressed, I lose the energy to chat. Yeah, I know I'm not a perfect parent (lol). I'm not a 100-point parent; I'm the kind of parent who argues with their kids on their level (lol). But as long as the kids grow up healthy, that's all that matters (lol). So, what should I talk about? Oh, before that. I might not be able to chat much next week either because my schedule is pretty packed IRL, but don't worry, I'm not dead (lol). It's just a matter of capacity. I wish I could expand my capacity, but it's tough. I'm stubborn and won't back down on what I can't compromise on (lol). Well, I'll just keep doing my best at my own pace. Yeah, my pace is key. No pushing it. Que sera, sera. Or maybe that's not quite right (lol). Ah, shoot. I've used up all this space without talking about anything (lol). Well, I guess some days are like that. Hope you all have a great day! Let's do our best today too!

Well then, what shall we talk about?

Hiya, hello, it's Meyaon here. First off, I've finally reached a good stopping point with the novel I was writing, and I'm feeling relieved. It was originally planned to be 5000 characters, but before I knew it, it doubled in length (lol). I know I probably made them talk too much. But it was fun writing their conversations, so it's all good! So, let's talk about something today too. Suddenly, I thought of 'The Third Girl' by Miyagase Mizu. I read this and thought, 'Wow, this is amazing.' This is a本格推理 (honkaku suiri -本格推理) mystery. But it also incorporates occult fantasy elements. Even so, it's still a proper本格推理 mystery, and you'll find yourself thinking, 'Ah, I see...' To put it briefly, it's about a girl who has memories of past lives, or even past-past lives. If you're interested, please check it out. It's probably a bit niche. But I do recommend it to people who like mysteries. Also, there are other mysteries with fantasy elements, but I've forgotten the titles (lol). I'll talk about those later if I feel like researching and discussing them. Oh, and also. It feels almost apologetic to call it an afterthought, but I also like Hayato Ayasaki's 'Kachou Fuugetsu' series. Romance x Mystery. I've read some of his other series, but 'Kachou Fuugetsu' is my favorite.

Let's talk about yokai.

Yesterday we talked about gag manga, not mystery, so today let's talk about something serious. I also like yokai-related stories, so I'll put two titles side-by-side: "Yokai Gaku Kouza of Professor Zessho" and "Minato, the Null-Ability User". Both are mystery-solving stories about yokai and such. Professor Zessho's story solves supernatural phenomena (occult) from a folkloristic perspective, while Minato's does it scientifically. Both offer interesting interpretations that make you go "Ah, I see..." as you read. I don't know how people who don't like yokai will feel about them (lol). But well, both explain things thoroughly, so you can enjoy them even without prior knowledge of yokai, so don't worry. It's not that I prefer one over the other, or that one is better than the other; they're different, and they're all good (lol). I think both might have comic adaptations, but I haven't gotten into those, so I don't know much about them. Anyway, I find it amusing that their approaches are opposite, and their protagonists' hair colors are also opposite (lol). Oh, but these two have no particular connection, okay? I'm just putting them together on my own. When I think of yokai, these two come to mind. Well, there are many other yokai-themed works out there, of course.
