It's an older work, but

I'm talking about 'Senyoku no Sigrdrifa', which I watched because of the novel version. There are many things I'm not satisfied with, but it's still interesting, the characters are charming, and the voice actors are the best. I'm still hoping they'll make a sequel. Even if it's not an anime, a novel would be fine, I just want them to continue the story. Also, I recommend '86', which was still in a (somewhat?) peaceful situation at the time of the anime. However, the situation in the original novels is really tough, so I have to say that if you liked the anime, be prepared for what's to come if you decide to follow the story.
