Conflict as a Caregiver and Grandchild
It's been a month since my grandfather's illness was discovered. August ended in the blink of an eye... As I'm a caregiver, I have a habit of writing down events in detail. Did you know? The human brain is surprisingly easily fooled. Information gets swapped due to assumptions or similar situations. Memory is surprisingly unreliable, so I leave records💡 I also record things I notice, unusual behaviors, and statements. I'll introduce an easy way to take notes. It's none other than 5W1H: - When - Where - Who - Why - How - What That's all you need. It's even better if you record the results during and after care🌹 If any of you daughters are caring for family members at home, please use this as a reference💡 Information is crucial for later judgment (examinations and assessments), so I recommend recording anything that makes you think, 'This is different from usual, isn't it?' It's also reassuring to decide on a key person for information sharing among family members💡 Do it for your precious family and for yourself🌹 My records also serve as 'memories' of my grandfather, so they tend to get long.

I've also worked in caregiving for about half a year. I was quite told off about record-keeping at the facility. For the families, it's also about 'memories,' isn't it? I think I'll be able to keep better records next time. Thank you for your valuable feedback, Yuen-sama. I hope you can create more good memories with your grandfather 😊
