Day of White Dew
Hello everyone ð¹ Today is apparently the "Day of White Dew" (Hakuro). White Dew is one of the 24 solar terms, occurring when the sun's ecliptic longitude reaches 165 degrees, around September 8th. This year, it falls on September 7th. As the night temperatures drop, the moisture in the air cools, causing "dew" to form on the surface of plants and trees. This dew appears to shine white when illuminated by the morning sun, which is how it got the name "White Dew." Even a single phrase like this sounds wonderful when you know its meaning, doesn't it? Speaking of the 24 solar terms, I've heard of some like the Vernal Equinox (Shunbun) or Beginning of Autumn (Risshu), but there are many I don't know. Since it's called the 24 solar terms, I assumed there were 24... and when I looked it up, I found I knew far fewer than I thought~.
