Jack Dawson

Life is a gift. I don't want to waste it. I don't know how it will turn out, so I should just accept life as it is. These are the words of Jack Dawson, the protagonist from the movie 'Titanic'. I thought it was very fitting for Jack, a poor young painter living day to day, traveling the world and drawing freely, and I really liked this line, including his personality. He says he doesn't want to waste it, yet he should accept it. At first glance, it might sound like he's saying not to think about anything, but for Jack, life is like poker. You don't know your hand until you get it. Rather than spending your life's turn doing nothing, it seemed like he was conveying that it's more meaningful to decide which cards to discard and draw anew, and then, whether the cards are good or bad, to accept reality and enjoy that life. The movie itself is a masterpiece and quite interesting, so if you want to see a young Leonardo DiCaprio, please watch it at least once. The image is from the movie [Titanic].
