I used to be a school refuser

I'm already an adult and working, but is it okay to post here?:;(∩´﹏`∩); I might not be able to solve everything, but I joined because I thought I could listen to your rants or offer some minor advice. I was a school refuser from elementary school all the way through high school. I was ostracized just for having different sensibilities from others, and even though I had friends, I felt like I didn't belong, which led me to stop going to school. I was criticized at home and at school, and there were times when I felt like I was going crazy, sensing that even just walking outside made others judge me. There was a period when I was a shut-in, but from the story of a certain game, I received messages like "Everyone is crazy, so it's wrong to blame only yourself" and "Broaden your horizons." This helped me recover mentally to the point where I could work and tell myself it was okay to be alive. Now that I've been a working adult for a few years, I realize that school is quite an "abnormal environment," isn't it? They often say school is a microcosm of society, but after starting work, I found it much more manageable than school. There are terrible people, but there are also good people. As an adult, you can choose your own place to belong, and there are many ways to escape.

Because I've been through it, I think I understand you best. Relationships in school are definitely tough. As you said, the patience you build in school will become a strength when you become a working adult. And you can do things you like once you're a working adult, right? Please make sure to do various things to relieve stress and not let it build up.

I also didn't attend school when I was in middle school and college. I still feel a vague sense of fear towards the world, and with depression on top of that, my anxiety is immense. Reading your post during this time made me feel a bit more at ease. Thank you. You've encountered a truly wonderful game. Back in middle school, I received a message from a certain game that was along the lines of 'Not everyone is always right (or wrong)' and 'People just have different ways of doing things.' Ever since then, my perspective has broadened considerably. School is such a small world, isn't it... I truly feel that being confined to such a small space during the formative years of adolescence, when one is grappling with so many worries, is what makes student life so difficult. Sorry for the long message.

I agree with you about learning from games! This might sound a bit harsh, but I think school is like a 'friend gacha' (friend lottery). Seriously, how much fun you have really depends on your friends.

Thank you for being alive😆 As for a word to you, who are such a hard worker: This is something I heard from my grandmother, who passed away last year at 104. When my father and aunt were sorting through her belongings, my aunt said, "So many of my things came out." It really made me realize that life is a game, and the ones who enjoy it win. My grandmother always told me, "Since I was born crying, I want to be smiling in the end." It's tough to maintain that mindset, but keep up the good work😊

It's okay. I'm also turning 40 and working slowly at a supported employment facility. I have a mental disability.
