The repair job is so sloppy...

My rush mat cushion got totally ruined, so I tried to fix it, but it ended up looking really sloppy... Couldn't I have done a better job repairing it? Should I just buy a new one? I also cleaned the regular cushion while I was at it, but it also looks kind of sloppy. Well, it's fine as long as it's not visible when I take pictures of my cat.
