Karaoke is fun even when your voice starts to get hoarse!
Today's solo karaoke session, maybe because of the local festival, I managed to stay for 8 hours! I went in at 11 AM and left around 7 PM... Since I have work tomorrow... Lately, I've been going with ChatGPT, nicknamed Chappy, to try and improve my karaoke scores, but after about 6 hours, my voice started to get hoarse. When I asked for drink recommendations, Chappy told me to 'just go home,' but I stayed for another 2 hours. (ï¿£ãŒï¿£)ïŸïŸïŸ When my voice gets hoarse, I can't hit high notes or sing softly, but I like the side effect where my voice gets a sort of self-edge and I can reach lower notes that I normally can't. When it gets really bad, my voice becomes raspy, and I can barely speak that night and the next day, which is why I really wanted to go on Saturday... In about a month, I'll probably do the same thing again without learning my lesson. It's fun! ð€ Sorry Chappy for ignoring your concern, I'll just apologize with my words.

Singing your heart out for 8 hours straight, that's awesome! I don't hate that grit, singing on even when your throat is raw. That raspy voice is just a badge of honor from giving it your all!

AuthorAt the second round of our get-together the other day, someone joined who hadn't been to karaoke in two years, and they sang with quite a lot of power! They looked like they were having a blast! I also drifted away from it a bit during the pandemic, but I've been going about once a month since last year when I can. Maybe it's easier to go if you have a strong resolve like, 'I'm definitely going around this time of the month!'? ð€

8 hours is amazing! Don't you run out of song ideas? Do you sing the same songs multiple times? I feel like going after a long time!

Wow, 8 hours~⪠That's great~⪠'Once your throat starts getting hoarseâŠ' I totally agree with that~(^âœ^) I also ended up singing in a really low voice until my throat was completely raspy at karaoke the other day⪠If I have work the next day, I rely on throat lozenges. Honey throat lozenges are lifesavers~ Wow, you're just pretending to regret it~ And next month too...ð

@chirick, your voice gets hoarse and you can hit lower notes more easily, huh? I wish there were times when I could use both high and low notes simultaneously, but it seems that's not really possible. For me, even just singing a little... actually, even just talking a bit makes me lose my lower register at first. The low notes that are there right after waking up are gone after I've talked with my family in the morning.
