Yodaka
I was originally a school refuser (currently a NEET)
To be more specific, I'm currently on medical leave at home due to depression and other mental health conditions. It's been about 5 years now...? I was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum and having a borderline intellectual functioning later in adulthood. I often think 'If only I had known sooner...'. I've always tried to keep up with 'normal' people, and I'm confident I've put in tens or hundreds of times the effort, yet throughout my school and work life, I was constantly told, 'When are you going to get serious?'. I wasn't slacking off, and I wasn't being lazy. I was doing it more earnestly than anyone else. But I wasn't understood. In the end, you're the only one who can protect yourself, and you're the only one who can truly understand yourself, so don't get hurt by someone's careless words.

Your journey, filled with efforts far beyond what others have put in, is something no one can deny. First, be proud of yourself, who has seen your hard work up close. From now on, prioritize protecting your own heart.

I totally get this. You try so hard but can't do as well as others. You end up seeing other people as shining stars... You can't keep going unless you first understand yourself.

I understand. I hate words of encouragement. I end up thinking, 'I'm already trying my best!'

So Yodaka-san, you were being compared to others. Are you perhaps mentally exhausted? 🥺 I also had four classmates in the same neighborhood since childhood, so I was always compared and criticized. If I fell even a little behind, my father would abuse me to the point of breaking my bones. I'm a widow now, but since I moved out when I got married, I'm living peacefully and doing whatever I want every day. 😆 My grandmother passed away last year at 104. While sorting her belongings, my aunt told me that only her own things came out, and I realized that whoever enjoys life the most wins. My grandmother used to tell me, 'Since you were born crying, you should be smiling in the end,' and it's so true, isn't it? 😊 You mentioned you're currently unemployed (NEET), and I think living away from home might be better for your mental health, but it's difficult because various things are needed first. If you're looking for a job, my place offers live-in positions, you can rest anytime, and lunch is provided! 😆
