I have Complex PTSD and a Somatic Symptom Disorder

I'm currently undergoing treatment. I really understand how it feels to not be able to go outside. I can't go to places with a lot of people (TT)

I'm grateful that you reached out to me like this, even while carrying your current struggles. It's a perfectly valid choice to prioritize your own well-being and rest, instead of forcing yourself to go out. There's no need to rush, let's take things one step at a time at your own pace.

I'd never heard of 'somatic symptom disorder' before, so I looked it up. It says, 'Somatic symptom disorder (somatoform disorder) refers to a condition where individuals experience physical discomfort such as pain, numbness, or nausea, despite no clear abnormalities found in medical examinations or no medical explanation for the symptoms. It is believed that psychological stress and mental burdens manifest as physical symptoms.' And given that you're also suffering from PTSD as mentioned before, you must be carrying unimaginable trauma. Seeing as you're posting here now, perhaps you've recovered more than before treatment? Regardless, thank you for being alive 😊 I too have experienced severe trauma, like being physically abused by my father to the point of fracturing bones in my childhood, or losing loved ones, which ranks in the top 3 worst traumas of my life. I understand how painful it must be just to recall traumatic memories. When my aunt was organizing my grandmother's belongings after she passed away at 104 last year, she found mostly her own things and realized that 'life is a game, and the one who enjoys it the most wins.' You don't have to pretend to forget everything. If things get tough, please feel free to come and vent here again anytime 😊
