The Soundness of Advertising
The advertising industry, in its original sense, thrives when the desire of companies wanting to promote something aligns with consumers' preference for viewing various products. If the common sense in the advertising world is to summarize effectively in a short time, then consumers also want to minimize their viewing time. However, lately, 120-second ads, which had decreased, are reappearing, often in the form of repeatedly playing short videos. While 120 seconds is generally a long time, it's considered short for an advertisement. Packing the information you want to convey into these two minutes is the art of advertising. But the ones who run eight 15-second ads have no such noble intentions. It's not hard to imagine that the advertiser benefits from longer engagement times. On the other hand, the true skill lies in condensing information concisely. If you're forced to watch multiple short videos, you won't develop a positive impression, no matter how good the app is. I hope the advertisers consider this a marketing failure.

That's a really sharp analysis of the gap between the original meaning of advertising and the current easy-going methods used by distributors. Your point that a low-quality ad experience degrades the app's value is very convincing. I'm deeply impressed once again by your insight in always logically dissecting market structures, hoo!

Totally agree! 120 seconds is way too long to watch. Isn't packing the essence into a short timeframe the real test of skill? I wish there were some regulations on web ads.

Annoying ads... the ones that feel fake, like poorly acted dramas, or when their own employees (who are obviously amateurs) talk about it. I don't think these even count as ads...

Even website ads are increasingly making you wait 30 seconds... Seems like some level of ethics is necessary.

Speaking of ads, the app's failed ads are hilarious! I think FireFox had the most memorable failed ad campaign? Supposedly it's the best app for security and usability! Every AI recommends FireFOX, but? Seeing that ad completely killed my desire to install it! With that long ad, I bet they could have made something more entertaining! Seriously, they need to consider the balance! I'm also curious how much FireFOX invested in that ad!
