Spirit Hunter and Singing in the Dark

Takatsugu Segawa's "Spirit Hunter" and "Singing in the Dark" series are interesting. "Spirit Hunter" is a spin-off of the "Singing in the Dark" series. "Singing in the Dark" is also a popular series with new editions available as e-books. The first edition series is out of print due to its age. Both are fantasy novels with a horror leaning, maintaining a bright atmosphere throughout. "Spirit Hunter" might feel a bit slow or rushed in the latter half, but it's a light novel you can read without overthinking. However, um... the female characters are what you'd call "fujoshi" (girls who fantasize about male-male relationships), imagining scenarios with the boys around them, so if you can get into that vibe, you'll enjoy it. I personally was laughing my head off. I can still laugh about it now (with eyes clear as day). "Singing in the Dark" is more serious than "Spirit Hunter". This one also has comedic elements, but sometimes there's a sense of darkness or loneliness at its core. By the way, although Takatsugu Segawa's name sounds male, she is a woman and a veteran fujoshi. Under the pen name Kotobi Segawa, she writes full-on horror. That's also interesting, so please give it a read.
