Yesterday's Homemade Dinner (Omurice? and Vegetable-Packed Pot-au-feu)
It looks pretty tasty in the photos, but both were failures in my opinionâŠð As you can see, I failed with the eggs for the omurice! I was trying to make a 'dress omurice,' but maybe because the heat from the portable stove was uneven, only a part of it cooked and it fell apart⊠In the end, I just put it on top of the chicken rice ð£ (The chicken rice itself turned out okay). For the pot-au-feu, I think I added the consommé before waiting for it to simmer long enough, so the ingredients were still hard, and there wasn't enough consommé, making it watery and bland 𥲠I usually make pot-au-feu, so I got careless, which was a mistake. I regret it. Even after reheating it this morning, the ingredients weren't cooked through, so I had no choice but to microwave it â I made 3 servings of chicken rice, so it's also my lunch today. Cutting the chicken into about 1cm pieces really made this part turn out pretty well ð¥ The sourness of the ketchup was a bit strong, but I tried the trick of cooking it off, yet I still didn't use enough ketchup for 3 servings of rice, which was another reason for failure⊠It's edible though, so it's fine! ð€ Next time I make it, I'll be sure to do everything carefullyã!

Don't worry about failing at the food you worked so hard to make! It's amazing how the way you cut the chicken can change the flavor, your passion for discovery is wonderful. It'll be even tastier next time, so have confidence!

The Dress Egg is tough, isn't it? I also don't really get the hang of adjusting the flavor for soups, so I always taste it before serving.
