Glad to be here. I look forward to interacting with you all. The book in the picture, "Happy Birthday" by Kazuo Aoki. I first read Kazuo Aoki's books when I was in middle school. This work is one of them, and it was initially published as a children's book. The version in the picture was published when I was in middle school, and it depicts the struggles of the protagonist's mother, which were not included in the children's book edition. No matter how many times I read it, I end up crying while reading it.

I've read this before. I also read the part from the mother's perspective, but no matter how tough things were, it felt too much like toxic parenting and left me feeling uneasy 💦
