Let's talk about yokai.

Yesterday we talked about gag manga, not mystery, so today let's talk about something serious. I also like yokai-related stories, so I'll put two titles side-by-side: "Yokai Gaku Kouza of Professor Zessho" and "Minato, the Null-Ability User". Both are mystery-solving stories about yokai and such. Professor Zessho's story solves supernatural phenomena (occult) from a folkloristic perspective, while Minato's does it scientifically. Both offer interesting interpretations that make you go "Ah, I see..." as you read. I don't know how people who don't like yokai will feel about them (lol). But well, both explain things thoroughly, so you can enjoy them even without prior knowledge of yokai, so don't worry. It's not that I prefer one over the other, or that one is better than the other; they're different, and they're all good (lol). I think both might have comic adaptations, but I haven't gotten into those, so I don't know much about them. Anyway, I find it amusing that their approaches are opposite, and their protagonists' hair colors are also opposite (lol). Oh, but these two have no particular connection, okay? I'm just putting them together on my own. When I think of yokai, these two come to mind. Well, there are many other yokai-themed works out there, of course.

It's interesting how the story unravels from different perspectives, like folklore and science. Your observation about the protagonist's contrasting hair color is also sharp and amusing. The world of yokai seems to have a lot of depth the more you learn about it.
