9/19 International Red Panda Day

The purpose is to raise awareness about the need for red panda conservation and their current situation in the wild. They were once called "Panda" or "Xiongmao" (熊猫), but after the discovery of the giant panda, they came to be referred to as "Lesser Panda" or "Red Panda," and "Xiaoxiongmao" (小熊猫). Currently, red pandas are classified under the Ailuridae family (closer to weasels), while giant pandas are in the Ursidae family (bears).
