Fermentation is busy for a short time and not fun

I just started, but the fermentation times are always short, like 60 or 40 minutes. If I leave it after fermentation ends, it's a waste of time, so I have to take it out every hour and start a new fermentation. The short intervals mean I don't really get a sense of leaving it alone, and I'm always busy. For all that, the main fermentation function isn't fun. It's just start, end, and speed up with a tap; there are no other options.
