『ReBet: Social Sportsbook App』

While browsing games on Playio, I found another interesting app. 『ReBet: Social Sportsbook App』 In a nutshell, it's an app that lets you "enjoy the thrill of betting without actually wagering real money." It apparently has an SNS feature for posting predictions, which I thought was a unique app, but upon looking into it, I found out it's quite controversial... While the stated premise is "not betting real money," it seems to incorporate a system called "Sweepstakes" that allows users to cash out if their predictions are correct, designed to navigate gambling regulations in the US. To get around the strict online gambling laws in America, they're operating in many states under the guise of "just playing with bonus chips." Locally, there's a lot of debate surrounding this system, and it's becoming a social issue with some states imposing regulations. I just looked into it casually, but I was surprised to find it's a much deeper issue than I expected 💦 By the way, on the Japanese store, it says "This product is not available in your country or region" and cannot be downloaded. Japan also has its own gambling laws, so it's best not to get involved 😌 ※This is not a criticism of the app
