With the first 10 pull and distributed stones...

I heard Kogitsunemaru was here, so I tried it out, and he showed up on the first 10 pull! I'm taking care of him while doting on him. After that, I'm saving up stones to pull more, but do I only need to enhance Ema to level 2 or higher...? I can't seem to get books or anything, so my levels tend to get stuck... (I've already set Kogitsunemaru to 20)
