The Demon of the Lonely Island
When you think of Edogawa Ranpo, many people probably recall 'The Case of the Murder on D. Hill' or 'The Fiend with Twenty Faces'. However, among Ranpo's works, this is the one I love so much that I can confidently call it his 'masterpiece'. It's a full-length novel, so it's quite a read, but I believe it's a masterpiece worth your time. The thrill of a locked-room mystery, a bizarre romance, an adventure on a deserted island, and a series of grotesque incidents unfolding one after another – it's top-notch. It might be a bit niche, but if you're intrigued, I highly recommend giving it a read.

'The Island of the Ogre,' huh? That's a pretty niche choice. Sounds gory and thrilling, now I'm curious too! ♩

Ooh, Edogawa Ranpo!! This work probably has expressions that would get it banned nowadays, so it's definitely a style that picks its audience.

I got so invested in the character Moroto from 'Oni of the Isolated Island' that I cried a lot at the heartbreaking ending. I remember that time 🥲

It's a book I read a long time ago. I read the novel, and since it was a YJC comic adaptation of Edogawa Ranpo by Joji Yamaguchi, I bought and read it on e-book. Well, it was a male-oriented comic with adult depictions, as expected, but it realistically portrayed Edogawa Ranpo's world and was quite engaging. At first, I was surprised to see that this work was originally published as a collected volume in a BL magazine on e-book, but after buying and reading it, I understood. Still, it's fundamentally a mystery work (lol)

The one I was curious about...! Seeing this post made me decide to buy the book right now lol🥹 My favorite work by Edogawa Ranpo is 'The Caterpillar,' and somewhere in my heart, I've been thinking, 'I want to enjoy Edogawa Ranpo's world even more...!' So, I think I'll dive into 'The Ghost of the Isle of Demons' too!✨

It's a work I absolutely love! However... I find it a bit hard to recommend to people who read something like 'The Fiend with Twenty Faces' and genuinely say, 'Edogawa Ranpo is amazing!' 😂 I once recommended it to a friend... and ended up twisting that friend's kinks. I deeply regret it... 😂
