Plants 'Talk' to Defend Themselves from External Threats!?

Did you all know about plants' defensive instincts? When plants are nibbled by insects, they release specific 'scented chemical substances (volatile organic compounds)' into the air. Neighboring plants that sense this go into 'alert mode' saying 'An enemy has arrived!' and start making their leaves bitter and producing compounds that insects dislike. Furthermore, this scent also acts as an 'SOS signal' to attract insects' natural enemies like wasps. The world is cleverly designed, isn't it~
