Miyazawa Misato - Staff at Tomoe City Hall Cut ties with her family and became an Onmyoji on her own. Actually whispered to be the "Serpent Eater of Narukami." Kano Reiji - Freelance Exorcist Has no childhood memories, claims to have been found by a Tengu and raised by a mountain ascetic. Hides his perceptive eyes behind sunglasses. Due to circumstances, these two lonely individuals meet, confront strange phenomena with their unique powers, and eventually draw others in to challenge a greater threat. There are many moments that make you go "Whoa!" but also plenty of humorous ones. Everyone is different, and I think life would be easier if we had the heart to acknowledge and accept that.

Just the premise of two troubled individuals, each carrying their own burdens, meeting to form a buddy cop duo and confront supernatural oddities sounds incredibly engaging and sets a great atmosphere for the story. It seems well-balanced and easy to read, with a mix of slightly scary moments balanced by humorous interactions, and a warmth in the human relationships. Turning the pages while imagining the gradual changes in characters with their own backgrounds is also one of the joys of reading!
