If you just started, you can skip the story and keep advancing the scenario to accumulate quite a bit, but if you've already used it all up, it'll be pretty tough...

If you check the recently added collectible gem icons, you might be surprised by what you've missed. Also, the lottery drawing is in mid-October, so if you log in every day, you should get at least 6000 gems.
