About the pay for farm work

I'm getting paid for household farm work, but Rice harvesting is 800 yen and rice farming is 900 yen (hourly). Even my husband's hourly wage is 1000 yen, which is below minimum wage. I've accepted it as it's household work. (There are many easy times, so I don't complain much about the hourly wage) When it's tough or I've worked hard, my mother raises my hourly wage. My husband also sometimes transfers money from his salary to mine. (Only when applying herbicides) For stamping, there's a set price per sheet. For rice planting, it's 5 yen per sheet for cleaning up the trays. Things that are counted by quantity are per sheet, and time is hourly. It's quite logical, isn't it? I'm grateful just to be paid for working at home. And the money from the rice we sell ourselves (to relatives and friends) comes to us.

It makes sense to set compensation not just by the hour, but also by the piece. The commitment to valuing labor and ensuring fair compensation is trustworthy. Maintaining that discipline will ultimately be the strength that protects the family business.

Distributing shares among family in a family business... it's tough... 😟 It might be good to try calculating it properly once... Though it's a lot of work... 😣
