Personal Beginner's Guide to FromSoftware Games

Recommended Play Order: Dark Souls 1 → Dark Souls 3 (Sorry, but you should seriously skip 2) → Demon's Souls Remake → Bloodborne → Sekiro → Elden Ring → Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Reasons: Dark Souls 1: The first game in the Souls series, so play this first to make things easier. Dark Souls 3: It's beginner-friendly. The recommended starting class is Mercenary (for some reason, the Mercenary Dual Swords you get at the start are unbelievably strong). Demon's Souls Remake: The legendary game that started FromSoftware's journey. It has a unique feel. Bloodborne: You'll struggle immensely with the early bosses, but once you encounter a boss, leveling up becomes available. After leveling up and defeating those initial bosses, you'll truly get used to Yharnam's atmosphere and combat. However, be warned that the Chalice Dungeons can involve incredibly frustrating challenges later on. Sekiro: The parrying mechanic feels like a rhythm game, which is fun. Elden Ring: FromSoftware's first? open-world game. After playing the games I've recommended so far, you won't be able to go back because the controls are so much easier. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree: I'm not sure if matchmaking works properly now, but it's a moment where weapons that were looked down upon in the main Elden Ring game shine.
