Game Software: Download Version vs. Physical Copy... Which to Buy?

I decided to get back into console gaming after a long time and went to the game store... but wow, it's expensive! I can sort of understand the 60,000 yen for the console considering the performance, but 8,000 or 9,000 yen for software is pretty steep, right...? Back in the day, even home console games were around 6,000 yen... At these prices, I thought, 'Free-to-play mobile games are good enough,' and that's why I've been playing only mobile games for years, I reflected. So, while browsing for software, I found used copies. That's when I thought, 'It's fine if it's used,' and also, 'I can buy a physical copy and resell it.' Thinking back, I used to buy games for around 5,000 yen and sell them for 4,000 yen... If it's a popular title, even games from a few years ago can fetch a decent price... So, what about the download version? If the price is almost the same as a physical copy, wouldn't a physical copy that you can resell be better, unless it's a title you'd absolutely never part with? (Most games you finish playing are just done after that...) By the way, the Switch used to have something called 'Catalog Tickets,' which was a god-tier product where you could exchange them for 2 eligible software titles for 10,000 yen. Even if the software was 8,000 yen, if it was eligible, you could get it for 5,000 yen. That's why I bought download versions... but that service ended, so don't download versions have few advantages now?
