A Place Further Than the Universe

『 A Place Further Than the Universe』 (Completed) ~ Synopsis ~ Mari Tamaki, a girl who wants to start something but can't seem to take the first step, enters her second year of high school. Through a certain event, she meets Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl aiming for Antarctica. Even when told that high school students can't possibly go to Antarctica, Mari is moved by Shirase's unwavering determination and vows to head to Antarctica with her... ~ Impressions ~ In a word, it's a story about high school girls going to Antarctica!!! It might sound wild just hearing that, but it's a story of friendship and youth as they aim for Antarctica together. Putting aside whether high school girls can actually go, the production involved the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, so the setting and details about Antarctica are quite realistic and well-researched. You might not find it that interesting for the first three episodes as the story doesn't move much, but as the plot progresses towards Antarctica, it becomes very engaging.
