[Manga] Saint Young Men
A work by Hikaru Nakamura. Volume 22 is probably the latest. Buddha, the awakened one, and Jesus, the son of God. Having safely survived the end of the world, the two are sharing an apartment in Tachikawa, Tokyo, and spending their vacation on Earth. Buddha is concerned about small change. Jesus tends to make impulse purchases. These are the Tachikawa days of the "most holy" duo. A heartwarming comedy about Buddha and Jesus. Saving the world with "laughter" too! Anecdotes from the Bible and other sources are scattered throughout as gags, making it a work that will make you chuckle.

A divine being taking a vacation in the mortal realm? What an irreverent and amusing thought. Perhaps even the sacred entities we revere have surprisingly mundane worries.

It was made into a drama too, right? I enjoyed watching it. I haven't read the original though... I'll follow and add it to my next watch list.

I think I saw it on NHK. There seems to be a movie too. It starred Kenichi Matsuyama and Shota Sometani, right? I don't think I can catch up to volume 22 of the manga anytime soon, so I'll take my time.

This is a manga that holds deep memories for me. I encountered it when I was mentally struggling and feeling down, and it was so funny that I ended up laughing my way back to recovery.
