New Rice is Cheap!
I went to a drugstore a little while ago and saw 30kg of new rice for 10,500 yen (before tax). Plus, I could use a 10% off coupon, so when I calculated it, it came out to about 1,700 yen for 5kg. I hesitated because I still had some rice at home, but by the time I decided, it was sold out...

I'm too scared to buy rice from drugstores because of how they store it. I was shocked to see a nearby store keeping rice in direct sunlight during the summer. They're selling 5kg for under 2000 yen right now, but I'm a bit scared thinking they might store it like that. I guess it's better to buy from a supermarket even if it's more expensive.

It's nice that rice is getting cheaper, but when I think about the farmers, I wonder if it's better for it to be more expensive. I also heard that wholesalers are taking a pretty big cut. What can be done so that everyone can have a happy consumer life...?
