Carp is super delicious!
It was my grandmother's first anniversary, so after visiting her grave, we went to a restaurant that my family has patronized for generations. Their carp dishes are especially exquisite, and my family always makes a reservation there ð It was a whole carp simmered, and it was incredibly delicious ð They apparently raise ayu (sweetfish) and carp in the restaurant's pond! We also had salted ayu with roe, and it was mostly roe and looked really impressive! There were also various other dishes like sashimi and meat, and everything was delicious and I was stuffed! We could take home the leftovers, so we can enjoy them at home too! The staff were friendly and it was the best âš We talked as a family about ordering a carp dish for New Year's or something, since they apparently make them if you ask! We want to keep using this place!

You must have been exhausted after the one-year memorial service. I'm relieved to hear you were able to spend a heartwarming time with your family, sharing memories over a meal. Looking forward to your visit again during New Year's!

Simmered carp is delicious, isn't it... I guess some people are picky about it, but I like it... Sashimi carp is also tasty!

(I have a childish palate, so) I don't really understand the deliciousness of carp, but reading your post made me think it sounds tasty! On the other hand, I love ayu (sweetfish), so when I read about the salt-grilled ayu, I thought, 'Wow~ that sounds amazing~!'

Simmered carp, that brings back memories... I haven't eaten it at all since I moved away from my hometown, but it's delicious, isn't it? I remember eating it as a kid, liking the taste but finding the bones annoying ð€ Ayu is great too~! There was a place we used to go to for ayu set meals every summer when I was a kid⊠nostalgic ð€€ It's nice that they let you take home leftovers after serving various dishes. What a thoughtful restaurant!

It's wonderful that you frequent a long-standing establishment! âš I feel like I've only had carp dishes when I was a child... Now that my taste buds have changed as an adult, I'd love to try them~ð I'm a little envious because I don't see them often ð
