My First Shinkansen Ride!!

I rode the Shinkansen for the first time yesterday. I was alone and knew the difference between reserved and non-reserved seats, but I thought it would be as easy to get a seat as on a regular train, and it was totally different! On the way there, I tried a non-reserved seat, but it was full, so I ended up standing in the aisle near the restroom and trash can. The speed was so fast it felt like my ears were popping, and I was so unaccustomed to it that I got really nervous. I almost got motion sickness on the way there, but looking out the window was a fresh experience! On the way back, I bought a reserved seat and it was super fun!! I managed to sleep on both the way there and back ✌ Didn't miss my stop or anything!
