Debating whether to join the forum

I write comments but my gems aren't growing much. I'm thinking maybe food or meal-related topics would be easier on the eyes and easier to comment on? I feel like I could join casually, but I can't quite take that final step. Like, where should I join? I'll look for a place that seems easy to join, using the number of people as a guide!!
