【Text not fitting in the main body, so it's in the comments】 This is an anime set in Japan in 2112. In this era, it became possible to measure psychological states and personality tendencies. The "Sibyl System" (managed by the Ministry of Public Welfare) is introduced to measure and quantify these. A society where people's lives are determined by these numbers. They are called Crime Coefficients. If the number exceeds 100, the person is treated as a latent criminal and aims for social reintegration through counseling in facilities. PSYCHO-PASS Season 1 Akane Tsunemori, an Inspector assigned to the First Division of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Public Welfare. (She's a rookie, 20 years old in Season 1). Her subordinate in the First Division of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department is Shinya Kougami, an Enforcer. (He's 28 years old in Season 1). Inspectors are composed solely of elites with clear latent potential, whose Crime Coefficients are below 100. Enforcers have had their Crime Coefficients exceed 100 in the past, classifying them as latent criminals, but due to their high abilities, they are specially granted the authority of Enforcers. Shinya Kougami was once an Inspector himself. He lost colleagues in an unreasonable incident, his coefficient exceeded 100, and he is now an Enforcer. The story follows the pursuit of Shogo Makishima, the perpetrator of that unreasonable incident.
