Error Game Reset
404GAMERESET, pronounced Error Game Reset. It was a game that personified various "games," mainly from Sega, with each character having distinct light side and dark side versions, which was a unique feature. The second and third images are, so to speak, the light side Xevious and the dark side Xevious. It was occasionally a hot topic during announcements and releases... but the common opinion was that it was unclear who their target audience was 😅 They had major collaborations with big game companies like Namco and Capcom, but service was announced to end around the half-anniversary. When the service termination was announced, I was a bit curious, and thought, "Well, it's ending anyway," so I started playing (lol). And after playing, I had many questions like, "Why this STG system when collecting names of retro games?" and "What's the story really about...?" But it wasn't that bad, I guess 🙄 Characters you obtained would talk to you in the home screen, the dark side characters gradually showed their inner selves, and you could even decorate with figures of characters from old games... I actually enjoyed it quite a bit until it ended 🥰

AuthorI knew it was going to end eventually, but I still had a lot of fun, enough to save screenshots like this ☺️ Well, maybe it also helped that they had a big final push with lots of gacha before shutting down (lol) They even released an offline version where you could view the home screen and things like figures… But it was just too big in terms of storage, so I deleted it 😅 Personally, I loved both the light and dark versions of Xevious and Crazy Taxi ✨️ And I also liked Pengo, which went from light to suddenly mature dark, and Virtua Racing 🥰

That one's an anime, but I feel like it has common ground with Sega Hard Girls~! I wonder what kind of settings and stories those anthropomorphized characters were involved with??
