ARK Carcharodontosaurus Taming Method

This time, I'll show you how to tame a Carcharodontosaurus. First off, it's great that Carchas aren't knockout tames. Still, prepare about 4 metal dinosaur gates and a trap. It's the same as a Giga. Once you trap it, kill nearby dinosaurs and feed the corpses to it. You'll see a circular gauge in the middle indicating the taming progress as it eats. You can feed it other dino corpses, but a pro tip is to feed it baby Rex corpses for a huge chunk of progress. Even for high levels, 2-3 should be enough. You can bring one and feed the rest with other dino corpses. There's another method. Break the dino gates, mount the Carcha, and then kill nearby dinosaurs. Something will pop up below, and once that fills up, it's tamed. Its base stats are similar to a Giga, but it doesn't enrage, heals quickly with stacks, deals more damage than a Giga, and is faster. That's why the Carcha is so good these days. It's a bit iffy before imprint, but after imprint, it's just insane.

Ark Major Creature Taming Methods 3

Next up is the Giganotosaurus, once the strongest dinosaur in Ark. With its overwhelming damage and health, and the bleeding effect on wild individuals, taming this devilish Giga is similar to taming a Rex. However, you must use an Industrial Dinosaur Gate. This is because a Stone Dinosaur Gateway will simply be destroyed. So, you need to build a structure with 4 Industrial Dinosaur Gates like you would for a Rex, but don't install a gate on the side the Giga will enter. Prepare a Large Bear Trap inside. Once you lure the Giga and trap it in the trap, you need to quickly close it and tranquilize it. The difference in tranquilizer effectiveness between high-level and low-level Gigas can be more than tenfold, so you'll need to refer to Dododex. For high-level Gigas, you should use a high-grade rifle with 200% or more. You'll need over 400 Tranquilizer Darts, 500 Narcotics, over 250 Shocking Tranquilizer Darts, and over 500 Narcotics. Kibble is highly recommended for this tame, and honestly, just increasing the taming multipliers will save your sanity. Their habitats are generally in snowy areas, on islands, volcanoes, and mountains – basically, anywhere mountainous.

ARK Major Creature Taming Methods 2

Next is the Rex. The Rex is the most used creature in boss fights. Although it's currently being rivaled by the Spino, it's strong enough that people are divided between using the Rex and the Spino. The Spino is a creature that came out later, but considering the Rex, which came out very early, is this strong, it's definitely an amazing creature. So how do you tame it? First, since it's large, building a square taming pen is good, and using hills is also an option. For a square taming pen, prepare 4 stone dino gates and 3 gates. Then, install 3 dino gates and dino doors except for the spot where the Rex will enter. After that, when the Rex enters, quickly block it with a flying mount, or block it with a large dino trap and then install the gates. High-level Rexes have high torpor, so prepare about 60-70 tranquilizer arrows and shoot them. Once it's tamed, feed it dinosaur kibble or meat, and prepare narcotics, and you're done. The method using hills is to lure the Rex to the bottom of a hill, and then you and your flying mount go to the top and continuously shoot tranquilizer arrows. If it tries to escape midway, follow it while shooting until it's tamed, then feed it narcotics and food as usual.

How to Tame Key Creatures in Ark

There are various creatures in Ark, and many of them are difficult to tame. So, I'll tell you how to tame some representative dinosaurs. Pteranodon: You can tie it with a Bola, knock it out with tranquilizer arrows, and then feed it meat or kibble. Pteranodons have a low torpor stat in Ark, so even at max level, 6-7 tranquilizer arrows will knock them out. You should bring about 30 narcotics, which should be enough. You can also use a program called 'DodoDex' for this. You can find it by searching the app store on both iPhone and Galaxy. I'm not sure about the iPhone. Argentavis: It's a bit large, so it can't be tied with a Bola. That's why I recommend a taming pen. You don't have to, but it's annoying if it flies away into the sky. Also, even if you knock it out, Rexes, Direwolves, and Saber-tooths often spawn around Argentavis, so building a taming pen is better for your mental health. Argentavis's torpor stat is higher than Pteranodon's, but not by much, so it's still good to bring 30-40 to be safe (based on using a Crossbow). The food is the same as for Pteranodon, but you need to bring quite a bit of narcotics.

Analysis of Ark Dinosaurs' Pros and Cons

Hello, Ark tipster here. As Ark has numerous dinosaurs, each creature has its pros and cons. I will analyze them. Raptor: In the early game, they are good with speed and attack power, but due to low HP and significantly lower stats compared to other creatures, they are rarely used after the early stages. Allosaurus: With its bleed effect and decent damage/tanking, it's good for mid-to-late game. However, without the bleed, it's weaker than a Rex, and the bleed doesn't work on bosses, making it an unfortunate creature that isn't used much. Rex: Frequently used in boss fights due to its high stats and effectiveness in boss battles. It's a strong creature in Ark. The downside is that it's an early-game creature, so it lacks special abilities and only has high base stats. Honestly, it has almost no downsides. Giganotosaurus: With its overwhelming HP and damage, it was the strongest creature before the introduction of the Carcharodontosaurus. The downside is that it frequently enrages and goes berserk. Griffin: With its incredible speed, it was the fastest creature before the release of Extinction. However, the downside is that it doesn't have a saddle. Isn't not having a saddle a good thing? It means that without a saddle, its HP is low, making it easy to die...

Huh, no reactions

Even if it's been a while, 0 comments on 3 posts is a bit much, excluding bots.

Ark Settings 2

Also, it's best to set dinosaur damage to 1. This is because not only allies but also wild dinosaurs deal more damage, so setting it to 1 is the best. Next, player damage literally increases your character's damage, and it can also increase the torpor applied to dinosaurs. I usually set it between 2 and 3. I've tried 4 and 5, but it felt like too much of a balance breaker, so 2 or 3 felt the best. Player defense increases your character's defense, but you need to lower the number instead of raising it for defense to increase. So, if you set defense to 0, you become invincible and won't take damage except from things like lava or status effects (cold, heat). I usually set it to 1, or 0.5 when things get tough, but I think it's best not to mess with it too much. Anyway, you can get high armor from gear, so there are plenty of options, but my fingers hurt ㅠㅠ

Ark Single Player Settings (Highly Subjective, So Just Refer!)

Hello, this is your Ark tipster. I've been posting mostly daily life stuff lately, but my nickname is Ark, so I should talk about Ark! So this time, I've brought settings. I debated whether this is the most subjective and difficult thing to do, but since the Creator Bonus has dropped to 76%, I'll try to share it. Since there are so many settings, I'll just cover the basics. First, the difficulty setting: 1 is the highest difficulty, and 0.1 is the lowest. Difficulty just means the level of wild creatures, and you need to set this to 1. I'll let you choose other settings, but you absolutely must set the difficulty to 1. This game is difficult anyway. It's a game you enjoy by just diving in headfirst. In the early game, low-level creatures are easy to tame, which is good, but in the late game, you'll spend days searching for high-level ones, so you must do this. Also, there are settings for the paid Ark Pass, which I won't cover, but they are mainly about resource multipliers or creature nurturing, so they are for those who just want to enjoy the game easily.
