[$TARFACE] Pitchfork Review 7
Even in its less dubious moments, $TARFACE possesses a strange allure that pulls the listener into a David Cronenberg film. Tyga claims the album was inspired by "even" Prince, Michael Jackson, and Tom Petty, but there are no distinct sonic homages or direct references to be found, only superficial imitation. Upon closer inspection, the drum sound of JUST US TONIGHT is reminiscent of C+C Music Factory, the melody line of FREEZING evokes Tom Petty, and GAVE U RACKS brings to mind Cameo. However, "homage" should be able to give the listener a sense of "familiarity," regardless of whether it has a direct sonic connection. $TARFACE seems to have confused references stemming from a love of music with AI prompt references. -Pitchfork What's with the length of this review.. lol I can't even fathom how much Pitchfork wants to diss [$TARFACE]

Fenix Flexin also initially claimed Rubberz's work was 100% pure before admitting that AI elements were partially incorporated into the song, only to be caught by an Instagram Reels user. There's no doubt that Tyga's changing story is suspicious. Clues of AI usage are scattered throughout the song "POWDERED DREAMS." First, this song is very similar to Rubberz. From the mid-tempo funky sound to the point where Tyga (or AI) imitates a British accent while singing. The lack of human breath in the chorus and the luxurious atmosphere throughout both songs, with specific descriptions like "bankrolls on the table" or "ice in the glass, cash in the tray" appearing in between, are also identical. It could be a coincidence, but the mention of "shoreline" in the lyrics is also noteworthy. Source: Pitchfork

(Album Introduction) [ESCAPE]
Artist: EK Release: March 24, 2024 Genre: Hip-hop Length: 29:17 Track Count: 12 songs Title Track: What's up Label: 260 Asia Distribution: Warner Music Korea This is EK's first full album, ESCAPE, which is underrated because it's overshadowed by his second full album, YAHO... No matter the situation or environment, don't lose your true self. - ESCAPE Album Introduction - This album allows you to experience EK's solid rapping, meaningful lyrics, and the great performances from the featured artists. (Real hip-hop, a true masterpiece...) If you're tired of listening to idol songs or indie music, you should definitely check out the real hip-hop album [ESCAPE]. My favorite lyric: "A life where I am the subject, I don’t give a fxxk Do you believe what others have decided more than yourself?" I really love this lyric. It feels like a philosophy that's essential for modern times, not just for me. A life where you trust yourself more than others and ignore things you don't need to care about. Wow.

Early in the album's creation, Tyga hinted that it was 100% human-made. In an interview with People, he stated, "Even during the mixing process, we used a lot of analog hardware," mentioning specific gear like delays and harmonizers, and adding, "Everything we used is exactly what was used back in the 80s." However, a week later, when asked by VIBE if AI was used in the album's production, he changed his tune and admitted, "Of course." He defended himself by claiming the public's negative perception of AI tools is similar to the reaction when Auto-Tune was first introduced. In other words, "there's nothing wrong with using technology as a tool." Even if AI was utilized for some musical elements of the album, he emphasized, "All the lyrics and all the vocals are entirely mine." He even added, "I don't know why I have to explain in detail the process of creating good results." Source: Pitchfork If the results were truly good, it would have been an AI music revolution.

Changmo Monolith Review
To get straight to the point: It feels like... something's missing.. No, there's a lot in it, but it just feels like something's missing. I feel like it would have been good if there was just *something* more. Still, I think the mainstream appeal is pretty decent. There's just too much orchestra involved, and that's the part that really divides opinions. I was hoping for a masterpiece, but at best, it seems like a solid work. Grand beats and rap that's just Changmo, lyrics that seem to tell a lengthy narrative, and rap sounds that are oddly shaped to contain it. Hmm... It seems like a pretty meticulously crafted album... For now, the general consensus seems to be similar to mine, leaning towards average to good. Some people are calling it album of the year, but honestly... they should have at least made the mainstream appeal good. There are even comments saying it sounds like an AI song ㅠㅠ

Rapper Kim Gamjeon Arrested and Indicted for 4 Marijuana Deals with a Minor... 'Recidivism During Probation'
Rapper Kim Gamjeon (Kim Sang-min, he can dare to be called a legend) is ruining Indigo. They shouldn't have brought him in... But the news also shortens it to 'Kim Gamjeon'? Well, the rap name Kim Sang-min, he can dare to be called a legend is a bit too long...

Tomorrow
Changmo's new full album is dropping tomorrow!!! The album title is [M O N O L I T H], and it seems like he put spaces in between because of his mixtape [M O T O W N]. The reason the album is coming out tomorrow is because tomorrow, October 1st, is the day Changmo joined Ambition Musik. Changmo's full albums have never disappointed us. His first full album, Boyhood, which was the peak of popularity with tracks like 'Bireosseo' and 'meteor', And his second full album, UNDERGROUND ROCKSTAR, which proved his musicality and skill in hip-hop. I'm so excited and also a bit worried about whether his third full album, M O N O L I T H, will be like Boyhood, like UNDERGROUND ROCKSTAR, or something completely new... (Anyone who knows the Public Enemy 'meong meong meong' verse 💀💀💀) Will Monolith be able to surpass 'Areum8', 'POP IS CRYIN'', etc. and become the album of the year...

If you want to get a feel for $TARFACE's sound, I suggest trying out Treblo, a free AI music generator that Fenix Flexin used to make his hit song "Rubberz." Input the tags: "Tyga, 1980s, synth-pop, new wave, 80s pop song, Tyga, Tyga, Tyga, vocals, thriller, synth." (You have to input "Tyga" multiple times for the AI to understand I want Tyga's vocals. Never add the Fenix Flexin tag, or it'll just sound like Fenix Flexin's voice). I'm not saying this album was made by AI. It's just that I was able to generate a song that sounds exactly like the tracks on $TARFACE with the prompt "a critic writing a Tyga album review." -Pitchfork- Wow... wow... is it really this trash? But Pitchfork sure knows how to phrase things. lol

"Dogshit album"... Wow, Pitchfork actually said that.. lol I guess the criticism about AI usage will continue. But honestly, it's obvious hip-hop is more sensitive to this stuff, so what kind of courage did they have to release this... haha
