[STARFACE] Pitchfork Review 5
Early in the album's creation, Tyga hinted that it was 100% human-made. In an interview with People, he stated, "Even during the mixing process, we used a lot of analog hardware," mentioning specific gear like delays and harmonizers, and adding, "Everything we used is exactly what was used back in the 80s." However, a week later, when asked by VIBE if AI was used in the album's production, he changed his tune and admitted, "Of course." He defended himself by claiming the public's negative perception of AI tools is similar to the reaction when Auto-Tune was first introduced. In other words, "there's nothing wrong with using technology as a tool." Even if AI was utilized for some musical elements of the album, he emphasized, "All the lyrics and all the vocals are entirely mine." He even added, "I don't know why I have to explain in detail the process of creating good results." Source: Pitchfork If the results were truly good, it would have been an AI music revolution.

In the end, art has to speak for itself through its results, not just the beauty of the process... It'd be cooler to prove it decisively than to make a lengthy excuse...♩

If it were an era where AI technology was as developed as it is now, maybe. But back then, when AI wasn't that advanced and there was even more backlash against using AI than now, writing that was pretty over the top.. ㄷㄷ
