Upon waking from the dream, they find themselves returned to their youth and their health restored. Things they couldn't do when they were young. Things they have lingering regrets about. They revisit these with their family and friends, experiencing the happiness of daily life once more in this healing and heartwarming anime. Ultimately, life is meant to flow, so the elderly couple let go of time. Their descendants protect the apple orchard they tended, bestowing 'another gift' upon the apple tree, leading to the appearance of yet another golden apple of gratitude.

※Title: The Duke of Death and His Maid ※Rating: 3.0 (Personal Rating) ※Synopsis The protagonist, cursed by a witch, drains the life force from anything he touches, be it living or non-living. Because of the curse he contracted as a child, his family isolated him in a remote villa with only his butler to attend to him. The female protagonist, who applied to be his personal maid and serve the young master, dedicates herself to repaying a past favor he did for her. This anime follows his daily life and not-so-adventurous adventures as he endures constant dangerous physical contact and flirting, all while trying to break the curse. The art style isn't your typical 2D animation, which might be why it wasn't super popular, but it's well-structured and has a clean ending, so I recommend it : ) It currently has 3 seasons out.

I've previously introduced a book called 'Clover,' where you make wishes to a demon. This time, I'd like to talk about stories involving such demons. What if demons attended university to corrupt humans? ※ Title: Demon University ※ Rating: 3.0 (Personal Rating) ※ Synopsis The biggest event at Demon University is the June presentation fair. Here, great demons from various major corporations attend to scout future demons. The demons ponder their presentation topics... sharing the results of their tests on what humans desire, choosing their own themes. Some focus on love, others on money, and some on eternal life... Facing the realization of desires one might have imagined, the demons explain the contract details with clever wordplay, leading humans to their own ruin. It's a short read with content suitable for killing time, so you can finish it quickly. : )

"Surim, do you know what kind of person is an adult?" Mrs. Sun-rye asked instead of answering. "Well." It was vague. Mrs. Sun-rye, Mr. Gil-dong and his wife, the Professor, the Director, the 2nd-grade homeroom teacher... I could quickly list good adults around me, but "It's someone who tries to live on their own." Sun-rye House p.53 Surim, a child by definition but growing into an adult, and Surim's family, who are adults but act like children. And Grandma Sun-rye, a pilgrim gaining life's wisdom and traveling her final path. It's a story about the incidents and accidents that happen with her neighbors. It seems like a young adult novel, but it gives adults food for thought... It's already a famous work. The brick-patterned cover still lingers in my mind, and I want to read it again : )

My neighborhood started the day with humid and hot weather, maybe because it rained early this morning.. At times like this, I wish I could make a wish to either change my sweaty constitution or change the weather. We use the word 'dream' consistently throughout our lives, but the word 'wish' seems to be used less and less as time goes by. Today, I'm leaving you with a book related to wishes. ※Title: Clover ※Rating: 3.0 (Personal Rating) ※Synopsis Jeong-in is living a life so bleak that you might wonder if it's okay to be this unhappy... She's living a life too burdensome for a student, and then she meets a demon. With the appearance of a being who can grant wishes, Jeong-in gets a chance to change her life... Will Jeong-in make a wish? And if so, what aspect of her life would she hope to change first? Personally, I didn't notice the cover, so I hadn't read it until now. As expected from a young adult novel, the lesson it teaches is predictable, but the banter between Jeong-in and the demon, mixed with a spoonful of fantasy, twists the predictability of a YA novel :)
