It's not a very scary story, but thanks to AshinDaejangnim, I remembered it and decided to share my first sleep paralysis experience. It was when I was in 2nd year of high school, after a major surgery. I was discharged and lying in bed at home. I had mostly recovered, so I was just lying there. Then, my room door slowly creaked open. I thought it was my mom and tried to lift my head, but I couldn't move my body. I could see the door opening, but no one was there. I thought I was going to die. I was so scared that I tried to scream, but as I opened my mouth, the blanket I was covered with slowly slid off. It felt like someone was pulling it from underneath. At that moment, I was so terrified that I kicked my legs with all my might and woke up. No one else was in the room, and my mom said she was asleep too. I thought I was going crazy. Later, I found out that was called sleep paralysis. What's even weirder is that when we moved in and redid the wallpaper, there was an amulet stuck only in my room.

It was back when I was working part-time at a supermarket... Is it the supermarket's fault? After finishing my night shift, on my day off, I must have dozed off without realizing it. Normally, I don't sleep much on my days off because I feel like I'm wasting time, but... that day, I just drifted off... Anyway... I was fast asleep... when I heard a sound. It wasn't a mosquito... but what was that laughter? Did someone come over? I was half-asleep, barely waking up... I heard a faint female "Ahahaha" laugh from my left ear, then a slightly louder "Ahahaha" from my right. Annoyed, I tried to open my eyes, but suddenly the laughter erupted loudly from all directions. It was like when you accidentally blast your earphones way too loud – suddenly, the room was filled with a woman's "Ahahaha" laughter from everywhere, and it was terrifying. To make matters worse, I couldn't speak and my body wouldn't move. Wow... I thought I was experiencing sleep paralysis for the first time. The laughter continued, and I don't remember anything after that, whether I passed out or fell back asleep. Be careful of colds. Health is the best... Ahahaha..

Yesterday, I talked about the Toilet Ghost, and today it's the Kitchen God (Jowangsin), who is sworn enemies with the Toilet Ghost. They say it's better to keep the kitchen and bathroom far apart because they don't get along. She's the goddess who presides over the kitchen and fire, and she's also a god of wealth. In the photo, you can see a water bowl in the center. Old mothers used to wake up early in the morning, place a bowl of clean water on the hearth, and offer it to Jowangsin. My grandmother always did that too.
