It's quite disadvantageous for those with low swimming stats. Gadgets are also limited to mechanics, meaning you can't use combined abilities, and legendary gadgets often have a debuff in at least one spot. For instance, my swimming stats are low, so I have to swim in the training playground. Fortunately, my running stats are top-notch! I used my running ability to swim and a gadget with 4 uses. (Honestly... I didn't have many other options lol) I recommend players choose swimming-specialized gadgets with a high number of uses.
