Movie Recommendation: Be With You (2004)
I'd like to recommend my personal favorite Japanese romance film!! It's a movie about a wife, 'Mio', who leaves the world after promising to return when the rainy season comes. One year later, she truly reappears, and her husband 'Takumi', their son 'Yuji', and the memory-lost Mio begin a new love together. Beyond a simple fantasy romance, the film masterfully blends its signature refreshing and cool rain sounds with the green mise-en-scรจne of the forest, stimulating emotions. The resonance and heavy lingering feeling when the theme of 'choosing love', hidden behind a miraculous story defying fate, is revealed in the latter half is truly incredibleใ What's particularly captivating isn't just that it's a sad romance; the point where it asks the question, 'How will we embrace the past memories and the life to come?', is the movie's true charm. If it touches your emotions, I believe it will become a life-changing film you'll want to revisit every time it rains ใ ใ

A rainy forest reminds me of Silvally! (Dundun) I'm so curious about a movie filled with precious promises and love stories! Ruru wants to watch it too!

I actually watched this movie with my mom when I was in elementary school, and I still think of it first whenever it rains ใ ใ Like the OP said, the atmosphere and vibe of the sunflower field and forest scenes were insane... I remember covering myself with a blanket and crying my eyes out when the secret was revealed in the latter half lololol This is truly my life's romance movie, and it's nice and relatable to see such a well-written recommendation here~!!!!

I've heard rumors that it's a good Japanese movie, but romance isn't really my thing, so I haven't seen it yet. I should watch it if I get the chance.

I watched the Japan part and then the Korea part, and they were both fun. It's a calm movie.

It was 'Into the White Night' after all. I forgot the title. ^^ The little kid who played Yuji Hosaka is already thirty now. The poster is still cute to look at. ใ ก Hosaka Yuji (Sejong University Professor) shares the same name. He became a Korean citizen after stating Dokdo is Korean territory.

I think it's one of the pinnacles of Japanese emotional romance. The final scene leaves a lasting impression. It's still enjoyable to watch now.
