[Review w/ Spoilers] Neon Genesis Evangelion New Edition
I will omit the content. It contains spoilers up to the conclusion. In the primordial Earth, the white moon Adam falls. Its descendants later became the beings humans call Angels, and ate the fruit of life. After that, the black moon Lilith falls to Earth. Due to the impact (First Impact), Adam's children fall asleep, and Earth comes to be dominated by Lilith's children (another form of Angels). Humans eat the fruit of knowledge and spread their descendants. A long time later, humans cause the Second Impact through contact with Adam, and in the process, Adam's children awaken. Humans form an organization called NERV and use Evangelions to defeat the Angels. However, this was for the Human Instrumentality Project (LCLization), which was intended for humans to apologize to Adam by dying once (LCLization), after which they would regain their human form and live on. LCLization means becoming one life form by liquefying everyone, and in this state, humans can return to their original selves if they know who they are.

AuthorThe main story is about the protagonist, Ikari Shinji, fighting Angels by piloting his mother, and his father, Ikari Gendo, attempting to meet his deceased wife, Ikari Yui, using the Human Instrumentality Project. Ultimately, Gendo's plan succeeds, and he manages to meet Ikari Yui, but because he committed various wrongdoings, such as consuming Adam, he dies without being turned into LCL. One of the heroines, Rei, harbored the soul of Lilith. Through contact with Adam, she turned everyone into LCL, but was later eliminated by Shinji and the Lance of Longinus, turning into snow that covered the world. After time passed, people returned from LCL and became human again, and Shinji reunites with a reborn Asuka. Kaworu possessed the soul of Adam. He went to find Adam, who was imprisoned in the basement of the NERV facility to lure the Angels, but upon realizing it was Lilith who was captured, he is killed by Shinji. This is because contact would trigger Third Impact.
