[Review] The Person Inside the Villainess

The protagonist, Emi, a college student who loves otome games, dies in a traffic accident and is reincarnated into the body of Remilia, the villainess of an otome game. At this time, Remilia's original personality is trapped in another dimension. There, she sees Emi's memories and knowledge, and eventually comes to cheer Emi on. Emi makes every effort to make Remilia happy, but ultimately loses everything due to Lina, the "girl of the stars." Emi's frustrated personality disappears then, and the real Remilia, who regains her body, seeks to destroy the world to get revenge on those who wronged Emi. This is a masterpiece that ranks among the best villainess stories. The exhilarating revenge plot is captivating. Due to its popularity, an anime adaptation has also been confirmed. Personally, I experienced a huge dopamine rush in the last volume, and tears welled up when Remilia and Emi reunited. According to the original novel, Lina was a psychopathic shut-in. Therefore, there is no room for sympathy.

[Review] Death Note

A masterpiece manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It's considered a profound work, often appearing in social studies textbooks, with ample room for interpretation regarding its social, human, and political implications. The story begins when Light Yagami, an ordinary high school student, obtains a Death Note dropped by a Shinigami. Light starts using the Death Note to punish criminals, and the police enlist the help of L to investigate these deaths. The battle of wits between Light and L, each pursuing their own sense of justice, continues, and L begins to suspect Light is Kira, the owner of the Death Note... It's still an incredible masterpiece even when viewed today. A work that truly highlights the brilliant mind games between Light and L. Honestly, I didn't watch it after L died back then... I re-watched it all later. If Kira had been active in an era with the internet developed like today, Kira might have remained Kira forever without ever being caught. Personally, I'd love to have a Death Note too.

[Intro] Introducing my manga review blog.

https://blog.naver.com/kiriu https://kiriu-library2.tistory.com/ This is a review blog that I'm just starting, but I aim to review all officially published manga, introducing 5-10 reviews daily, including full series and individual volume reviews. I can also provide detailed reviews for manga that I wanted to check out but couldn't for various reasons. Please refer to the blog's notice board for more details. I'm currently writing reviews for each volume of Jujutsu Kaisen, and I expect to finish them in about two days. After that, I plan to mix short and long series reviews. This is a blog intended for profit, so ads will be added later. I'm also running a Tistory blog because I was worried that overly detailed reviews might violate copyright laws, but the same content is posted on both, so feel free to use whichever you prefer. If you like my reviews, please consider buying the manga yourself. I try to be as detailed as possible, but I won't cover everything.

[Introduction] The Cycle of Compassion

A hidden gem of Korean school drama manga that delicately and profoundly portrays the wandering of school days and the complex emotions of youth. It follows the protagonists, who get involved in club activities by chance, as they face their own lacks and worries and gradually grow. Without sensational direction, it offers deep empathy through calm, realistic dialogue and three-dimensional character portrayals. More than just a simple school story, it densely depicts the pain of growth and the sincerity of human relationships, recommended for those looking for a well-made work that leaves a lasting impression.

[Review] Mikazuki Mao Can't Choose Her Gender

A gender-bender with a slight BL flavor. Our protagonist, Mikazuki Mao (♀), was just an ordinary high school student with a larger bust than most. She starts dating a boyfriend for the first time, only to discover he's a perverted, trashy guy obsessed only with sex. As a result, Mao gets hurt by a guy and starts to hate men. The day after breaking up with her boyfriend, Mao inexplicably wakes up in a male body. Panicked, Mao confesses to her dad that she's become a man, and learns that her dad is also someone who transitioned from female to male. Mao (♂), determined to live as a man, transfers to an all-boys high school. There, she meets various friends, including her roommate Manaka Ryusei, and discovers that kissing is the way to switch genders. As she navigates high school life, Mao finds herself increasingly drawn to Ryusei, and Ryusei, for some reason, starts to feel that Mao (♂) isn't so bad either... While it has a slight BL undertone, at its core, it's a TFS (Transformed From Schoolgirl) story. Find out for yourself which Mao Ryusei ends up with!

[Review] The Strongest Villainess Queen, the Cause of Tragedy, Devotes Herself to Her People

What a long title. However, it's one of the top three most enjoyable reincarnation villainess stories. The original illustrator was Matsuura Bunko, but fans who were furious about the story diverging slightly from the original light novel subjected them to intense cyberbullying, which led to the illustrator being changed. It's a truly unfortunate incident, especially since the original illustrator's art style was so much better. The protagonist died in a traffic accident during high school but suddenly realizes they have reincarnated in another world. The body they reincarnated into was that of the final boss in a dating sim game they used to play, 'A Ray of Light for You', a character whose actions caused many people to suffer and die. Therefore, based on this knowledge, Pride, who has reincarnated, strives to change the worst possible ending into a happy one. It's so fun that it's even been adapted into an anime. The light novel is even more enjoyable. Personally, I hope you'll experience it through the light novel. Pride is cute, and the male protagonists who are swayed by her are even cuter.

[Intro] Angel Legend

This is a masterpiece of school comedy manga, depicting the misunderstandings and misinterpretations of high school student 'Kitano,' who has an angelic heart but a more terrifying appearance than a devil. It portrays the hilarious incidents that occur when people around him mistake him for a heinous delinquent or the school's top boss just by his looks. The delightful situational comedy, born from the protagonist's pure intentions and the extreme misconceptions of those around him, is exceptional. As the representative work of Norihiro Yagi, the author of 'Claymore,' this recommended series delivers both belly-aching laughter and heartwarming emotion through its surprising charm that contrasts with the protagonist's appearance.

[Review] My Baby is an Alien

A manga more famously known as 'Da! Da! Da!' to Koreans. 14-year-old Kōzuki Miyu is suddenly left alone in Japan because her mother was selected as a NASA astronaut. Miyu, now alone, is entrusted to the Saionji family, with whom her parents were close. There, she meets Saionji Kanata. On the first day they live together, something invades their home. They discover an alien baby in a UFO, and its sitter pet, Mungnyang, accompanying it. They were aliens from Planet Oto, who crash-landed on Earth due to an anomaly during a walk. The baby's name was Ru, and it mistook Miyu and Kanata for its mother and father. Thus, Miyu and Kanata pretend to be Ru's parents until the baby can return to its home planet... This was quite a popular series back in the day. Fueled by its popularity, a spin-off featuring Miyu and Kanata's daughter was also released. As for the identity of the man with them... you'll have to read it yourself to find out!

[Review] Adorable Kunita-tama

An incredible masterpiece of weirdness. A manga about a genderless, child-like cat furry on the cover, and a handsome man who get married and enjoy a sweet, cozy life together. The furry's name is Kunita-tama, and she's a cat who became human with the sole goal of marrying Hino Susumu. However, Hino Susumu was already married and couldn't marry her. Hino Makoto, feeling pity for her, asks her to marry him instead. Kunita-tama was fated to disappear, perhaps like the Little Mermaid, if she couldn't prove true love within a certain time. Makoto and Kunita-tama, without realizing it, proved their true love and are now enjoying a very sweet newlywed life. Kunita-tama should have become human after proving herself, but for some reason, she remained a little furry. Here's the twist: Makoto actually loved Kunita-tama for who she was, which is why she hadn't transformed into a human. It's true love that transcends species... If you're looking for something fresh and mind-blowing occasionally, I recommend manga like this.

[Intro] 3x3 EYES

This is a masterpiece of 90s occult adventure fantasy, depicting the journey of Pai, a girl from the immortal divine race 'Sanjiyan', and Yakumo, a boy who becomes her immortal partner 'Wu', as they strive to become human. It stands out with its intricate foreshadowing and immersive action set within a grand worldview that exquisitely blends Eastern mythology with modern occult elements. Serialized for 15 years, it laid the foundation for modern occult battle manga, leaving a deep impression with its weighty narrative and charming characters.
