What are we living for?
If fear responses and the urge to reproduce are also for survival, then what is the reason for surviving? If the end is predetermined by death, what purpose should we live with?

The reason for living. I think people in the past lived purely by instinct, and their descendants are us today. I believe they felt fear from things that scared them, survived, and instinctively reproduced to leave descendants. However, looking at modern society, things seem to have changed a bit. As intelligent beings, we have knowledge of horror movies, ghosts, etc., so we encounter a wider variety of fears than the primal fear of survival from the past. Fear now seems to be more of a form of entertainment than a means of survival. Furthermore, as intelligent creatures, our criteria and styles for viewing a partner have become more diverse. Instead of relying solely on instinct, we meet people based on various conditions, and the result is leaving descendants. Therefore, while the reasons we live may differ for each of us, the end, death, remains unchanged.

The comment on the first post of this board is similar, but... If you die, is there nothing else afterward? And did you live well, what does it mean to live well? Relationships?? Social status?? Money?? Someone might say this or that person lived well, but I don't think there's a definitive answer. My personal conclusion is just that I hope you have many memories of being happy.

I just think I'm living because I was born. Like grass or flowers growing on the street. From a Buddhist perspective, being born itself is suffering, so to live this life well, I think it's best to be faithful to each day.
