Phoenix

This is [Phoenix], a masterpiece by Osamu Tezuka, the god of Japanese manga, who also created numerous other masterpieces such as Astro Boy, Black Jack, and Kimba the White Lion. Serialized throughout his life from 1954 until his passing in 1988, this work is acclaimed as a timeless masterpiece, showcasing humanity's futile greed and the Buddhist concept of reincarnation from a cosmic perspective through the medium of the phoenix, all within a meticulously crafted narrative structure that interweaves past and future. Although left unfinished upon the author's death, it became even more famous for its open ending, which coincidentally aligns with the work's worldview. While it may seem dated and simplistic by today's standards, you'll likely be amazed if you keep in mind that this manga began serialization over 50 years ago.
