1. After the initial download, play enough to ensure buildings are constructing even when your phone is off. 2. Continuously use gathering boosters and keep gathering. (The game's advantage is that it automatically gathers resources until they're depleted. You can increase the number of gathering troops by upgrading your Longhouse and through daily VIP login + using gems.) 3. Focus on obtaining speed-up items. 4. Soldiers should primarily be carriers, and only recruit Tier 1 of all soldiers. 5. Upgrade only gathering heroes. 6. Utilize the eagle to gather construction effect runes on the map, and after upgrading buildings that take a long time, gather the gathering runes again. 7. Join an alliance quickly. (Aim for a top alliance. They usually accept members, or you can whisper them, or sometimes just apply.)
