Any tips for taking good moon photos?

Taking pictures of the moon is surprisingly difficult! On my way to work out today, I saw a beautiful moon, almost full, and decided to take a picture. I didn't want to miss it, so I quickly snapped a photo. The moon, which was clearly beautiful to my eyes, just came out as a white circle on camera... haha I want to capture the moon's surface clearly and the atmosphere of the night sky, but no matter how I try, it's not easy. It seems like taking good moon photos isn't something you can just do. I usually enjoy taking photos of the night sky or cityscapes, so I wanted to capture the moon beautifully, but it's not turning out as I imagined when I try. It would be great if I could capture the same feeling in photos as I see with my eyes. I want to try taking a clearer picture next time! Does anyone know how to take pretty moon photos? I'm also curious about the best camera settings and zoom levels to use when shooting with a Galaxy phone. If you have any pro tips for taking great photos, please share! I'd love to try taking a beautiful shot.

A few hours ago you were taking pics of the daytime sky, and now you're taking pics of the moon at night. Don't just stand outside holding your phone in the cold night air, go get some exercise. It's always best to just enjoy the moon with your own eyes.

You zoomed in, right? Even if you zoom in, it'll just come out blurry if you take a regular shot. I haven't tried photographing the moon's surface specifically, but there are ways to take pictures of it with a Galaxy phone too.

I'm not sure about the evening, but the moon I saw during the day, when I focused on it and zoomed in, I could see its surface ^^

Just zoom in until the moon fills about 60-65% of the screen, then focus and shoot. It usually turns out well.

If you point the camera from bottom to top, you can take better pictures.

This is the full moon I took a picture of on my way home from work. You can take good pictures just by zooming in about 30x with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

I also zoom in with my Galaxy 26 Ultra to take pictures. I took this shot while waiting at a red light on my way home because it was so pretty~^^

This is what you get with the S20 Ultra's 50x zoom. However... it's quite difficult to aim the camera...
